Mock Wedding/Bridal photoshoot

I have been preparing for this shoot several weeks earlier as it took me a heck of  along time to find the right people to work with as I was in need of a male and female model, makeup artist, hair stylist, and clothing designer/stylist to provide us with the clothes. So I searched and searched, got a hold of several people and kept e-mail back and forth with them and then finally, the final team was decided upon. We decided to meet up for Thursday, August 12th at the Music Garden in Downtown Toronto to do this shoot. As I was going frantic getting ready the night before, I packed my camera bag, charged my battery, packed a bag with two pairs of heels, some accessories and went out to buy a bouquet which we can use for the shoot. I ended up buying red roses as I loved the colour and thought it would be a perfect contrast with the white that Tara (female model) would be wearing. So I got home, cleaned the flowers and cut off some length from the stems, removed the thorns and some leaves, and wrapped the bouquet in Pink ribbon to keep the roses together. Not the typical wedding bouquet but it sure served a great job during the shoot.
I met up with the clothing Designer, Merve, at Spadina subway station and we took the street car to the Garden. In the little time we got talking, we both felt very comfortable with each other. Merve was very down to earth and fun to talk to, she has a great outgoing attitude and wonderful concepts as well as designs. Her work is truly outstanding, and you can see it in the following photos as she is responsible for the white modern wedding dress that the female model, Tara, is wearing. The makeup artist was Tammy who I had the pleasure of working with before on the Jillian's shoot for her spring/summer fashion collection. As always, Tammy did a fantastic job on Dmitry and Tara's makeup. The hairstylist, Irina, is truly a magician as she was working outside, had no plugs and no electricity to work with, yet she produced an amazing result with regards to Tara's hair. The sideways updo that she preformed was completely amazing ... without plugs ! Dmitry, the male model, came with a positive attitude and a wonderful suit that was a perfect contrast with the white dress, he was super ready. As for Tara, she came with a suitcase full of heels, dresses and some jewelry, which made me think how she could have possibly carried that around all day. All in all, everyone was fantastic and I am more than happy with how the photos turned out, which gave me great encouragement to pursue wedding photography in the future. Enjoy :)
