A Family Portrait

When I was in high school, I used to be involved in practically most aspects of school life, from student council, leadership activities, to sports teams and multicultural night with live performances. I had many teachers who made an impact on my life and helped me realize that teaching is the path for me. One of those incredible people happens to be Deborah Gove, the head of the Chaplaincy at Father Henry Carr, my high school, and the Carr Cru (leadership supervisor). When then time came for me to apply to Teachers College and take the first step towards my career, Mrs. Gove was the first in line who was ready to help me out and write me a reference letter. I am forever grateful to her not only for her reference, but for the many lessons she taught me while I was still a student in high school. When she contacted me to take photos of her family for her mother's birthday, I was more than excited to meet the family of such a wonderful person. Needless to say, the family members were as lovely and as fun in spirit as she is.
